Top 10 DIY ideas to make your PG’s room Christmas ready:-The most favourite season of the year is finally here and Christmas and New year’s is just around the corner. At such a time, it is always a nice idea to give a holiday makeover to your room, isn’t it? Ornament vases
What you need: Christmas lights, glass vase, ornaments (round balls that you put up on the Christmas tree)
Step 1: Place the Christmas light inside the vase in a circular manner.
Step 2: Place the Christmas ornaments inside the vase.
Step 3: You can either use single coloured ornaments or colourful ones.
Step 4: Plug-in the lights into the socket and be mesmerized by the beauty of the glowing jar.
Polaroid Christmas tree
What you need: Photographs, Christmas lights, Scotch-tape, cardboard, paint
Step 1: Stick your photos to the wall, in the shape of a Christmas tree.
Step 2: Outline it with Christmas lights.
Step 3: Cut a star shape out of the cardboard, and paint it in your favourite colour.
Step 4: Stick the star to the top of your tree.
Step 5: Delight your eyes with your beautiful DIY Christmas tree.
Candy cane heart wreath
What you need: Candy sticks, ribbon, cardboard, hot glue, paint
Step 1: Take to candy sticks and stick them together in such a manner that they form a heart shape.
Step 2: Repeat step 1 with the remaining candy sticks.
Step 3: Now stick together all the heart shapes, such that they form a ring or a wreath.
Step 4: Cut out a heart shape or any shape of your liking from the cardboard, and paint it red.
Step 5: Stick this shape to the centre focal point of the wreath.
Step 6: Hang the wreath in your room with the help of a pretty red ribbon.
Light garland
What you need: Disposable paper glasses, Christmas lights
Step 1: Insert each light bulb into the base of the paper glass by making a small hole in it.
Step 2: Arrange the garland on the headboard of your bed.
Step 3: Light it up to create a festive ambiance.
Peppermint striped wreath
What you need: Thermocol tube, red strings, white strings, red ribbon, glue
Step 1: Cover the tube with white strings.
Step 2: Cover the tube with red strings at equal distances.
Step 3: Make a bow out of the red ribbon and attach it to the top of the tub with the help of glue.
Step 4: Hang the peppermint striped wreath at a place of your choice.
Mitten garland
What you need: Cardboard, red velvet paper, Thermocol, glue, clothes pins, string, paint
Step 1: Cut out the shape of a mitten from the cardboard, you can cut out as many numbers of mittens as you would like to have on your garland.
Step 2: Cover the cardboard mitten with the red velvet paper.
Step 3: Decorate the mittens as you like, you can paint a number on them or make some nice drawings.
Step 4: Cut out a small Thermocol ball and stick it to the mitten. The Thermocol ball out here represents a snow ball.
Step 5: Repeat the above steps with all the other cardboard mittens.
Step 6: Arrange all the mittens neatly and attach them to the string with the help of clothes pins.
Step 7: Hang your mittens garland at your favourite spot in the room.
Wall sign
What you need: Thermocol board, paint, Christmas lights
Step 1: Colour the Thermocol board in your favourite colour and let it dry.
Step 2: Paint a word on it, say “joy” or “happiness”, and let it dry.
Step 3: makes holes in the word that you have painted, at equal distances.
Step 4: Insert the light bulbs from the garland into it.
Step 5: Light it up and flaunt your DIY wall sign.
Decorative pillows
What you need: Old pillowcase, Jingle bells, sewing thread, needle
Step 1: Take the old pillowcase and sew jingle bells to it at random points.
Step 2: Make 5-6 of such pillowcases and making your bed or couch look Christmassy.
Glitter tree
What you need: Cardboard, glitter, glue, hair spray
Step 1: Cut the cardboard and shape it up to form a cone.
Step 2: Apply glue to the cone.
Step 3: Rub the cone on a pile of glitter so that it spreads evenly all over it.
Step 4: Spray hair-spray over the cone to keep the glitter in place.
Paper ornaments
What you need: Coloured sheets, stapler, string
Step 1: Cut the coloured paper to strips of various lengths
Step 2: Twist and turn them to form double hearts, as shown in the pic above.
Step 3: Staple the ends.
Step 4: Hang them on the Christmas tree or wherever you want to, with the help of a string.
