GPA / CGPA Calculator (India & US)
GPA / CGPA Calculator – For Indian & US Grading Systems
Understanding your academic performance through GPA or CGPA is essential if you're applying for college admissions, scholarships, internships, or job opportunities abroad. Our GPA / CGPA Calculator supports both Indian percentage-based grading and the US 4-point GPA system. It offers fast, accurate computation and a visual breakdown to help you analyze where you stand academically.
Indian Percentage vs US GPA: What’s the Difference?
- India: Marks are generally out of 100 for each subject. The average percentage helps determine class divisions and eligibility for Indian universities.
- US: Grading is on a 4-point scale (A‑F), with GPA calculated by averaging grade points across subjects.
Our tool helps convert Indian percentage into a 5-point GPA equivalent by simple division so you can compare it with US GPA benchmarks. (Many Indian universities also use CGPA on a 10-point scale—divide percentage by 9.5 to convert to 10‑point CGPA.)

Limitations & Considerations
- This version doesn't calculate weighted GPA if subjects have different credits—each subject has equal weight.
- Conversion (percentage ➝ GPA) uses a basic division method; universities may use different scales.
- Credit-based GPAs should be calculated separately if you have varying credit hours per course.
FAQs – GPA / CGPA Calculator
1. Can I use this for CGPA out of 10?
This tool calculates GPA on 4‑point (US) or 5‑point equivalent (India). For 10‑point CGPA, divide percentage by 9.5 manually.
2. Does it support credit-weighted GPA?
Not currently. All subjects are weighted equally here. Weighted GPA would need credit-hour inputs.
3. How accurate is the percentage-to-GPA conversion?
It uses a simple formula (percentage÷20). Universities may apply their own conversion scales.
4. Can I calculate a single-semester GPA?
Yes. Just enter grades for that semester’s subjects and you’ll get the average GPA for it.
